Hey, I’m Jenae.
I’m so glad you’re here.
I believe therapy can be a space to slow down, feel honestly, reconnect with yourself, and build the tools you need to navigate life from a more regulated and empowered place.
I work with individuals across the lifespan, supporting a range of presenting concerns with therapy tailored to each person’s individual needs, circumstances, and goals.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and person-centered, drawing from training in Trauma-Informed Care, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Somatic therapy, and Theraplay. I consider both the mind and body in the therapeutic process, while honoring each person’s developmental stage, strengths, experiences, and goals. Together, we’ll explore what’s getting in the way and develop tools to support greater regulation, confidence, and intention.
This is the heart behind The Well.
Just as a well provides a source of nourishment and sustenance, we each have an internal well—the capacity, resources, and sense of self that help us navigate life. Sometimes that well runs low. Therapy is an opportunity to pause, pour back into yourself, and create more capacity for the things that matter most.
It’s time to pour into your own well.

FAQ

My approach is collaborative, person-centered, and trauma-informed. I draw from training in trauma-informed care, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), somatic therapy, solution-focused therapy, and Theraplay, integrating these approaches based on each client’s needs, goals, developmental stage, and presenting concerns.
Trauma-informed care guides how I approach the therapeutic relationship and consider the ways that past and present experiences can influence how we think, feel, relate, and respond to the world around us. I prioritize safety, collaboration, choice, and empowerment throughout the therapeutic process.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) focuses on building skills to manage emotions, navigate relationships, tolerate difficult moments, and respond to challenges in more effective ways. When appropriate, we may incorporate skills related to mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Somatic therapy recognizes the connection between the mind and body and can help clients develop greater awareness of physical and emotional experiences, recognize signs of activation and regulation, and build practical skills for supporting the body through stress and difficult emotions.
Solution-focused therapy emphasizes strengths, possibilities, and practical steps toward meaningful change. Rather than focusing only on what is wrong, we can explore what is already working, what you want to be different, and the resources you can draw upon to move toward your goals.
Theraplay is an interactive, relationship-based approach that may be incorporated when working with children and families. Through playful and structured interactions, Theraplay supports connection, communication, regulation, and healthy relationships.
I also believe therapy doesn’t always have to look like sitting across from someone and talking for an hour. When appropriate and aligned with your goals, I may incorporate experiential and creative activities such as art, movement, time in nature, mindfulness, play, or other activities that support regulation, connection, and healing.
The approach we use will depend on you, your goals, your needs, and what feels helpful and appropriate for your treatment. We can adjust our approach as we go rather than trying to fit you into one specific therapy model.

I offer faith-informed therapy as an option, not an expectation. If incorporating your faith or spirituality into therapy is meaningful to you, we can explore how it may support your healing and goals. If it isn't something you want included, we simply won't incorporate it into our work together.
My approach is person-centered and collaborative, which means I want to understand what is important to you and what you hope to get from therapy. During the intake process, we'll talk about your preferences, values, and goals so I can make sure our work together reflects what feels appropriate and meaningful for you.
You get to decide whether faith is part of your therapy.

Yes! I offer both in-person and secure telehealth sessions, depending on your needs and what works best for your treatment.
For telehealth sessions, please plan to:
Be physically located in a state where I am authorized to provide services at the time of your appointment.
Be in a private, safe location where you can participate comfortably and confidentially.
Do not drive or operate a vehicle or other machinery during your session.
Use a reliable internet connection and a device that allows for a private, uninterrupted session.
Let me know if your location changes during the session.
Virtual therapy can be a convenient and effective option, but it isn't the best fit for every situation. We will regularly assess whether telehealth continues to be appropriate for your needs. If in-person care or additional support becomes more appropriate, we will work together to identify resources that best support your treatment.

Before your first appointment, I’ll send you a few forms to complete through the client portal. These help me get to know you and give us a starting point for our first conversation. Please complete these before your intake whenever possible.
During the intake, we’ll review the information you provided and talk more about what brought you to therapy, what you’re currently experiencing, and what you’re hoping will be different as a result of therapy. We’ll also explore relevant personal and mental health history, current stressors, relationships and support systems, strengths, and anything else that may help me better understand your experience.
We’ll also talk about your goals for therapy and what you need from me as your therapist. Because my approach is collaborative, I don't want to simply tell you what your treatment should look like. We’ll work together to identify what feels most helpful and appropriate for you.
We’ll review important things like confidentiality and its limits, communication between sessions, scheduling, fees, and other practice policies, so you know what to expect moving forward. I’ll also assess for any immediate safety concerns and make sure we have an appropriate plan for responding to urgent needs if they arise.
By the end of the intake, we’ll have a better understanding of where you are, where you want to go, and how we can work together to get there. You don't need to have everything figured out before you come in. The intake is simply the beginning of that process.
-
There isn't a set number of sessions or a specific timeline for therapy. Every person and every situation is different.
At the beginning of therapy, we'll talk about what you're hoping to work on and what you want to get out of our time together. We'll also discuss how often we meet based on your needs, goals, and what makes sense for your treatment. Therapy does not necessarily have to be weekly, and the frequency of sessions may change as your needs change.
As we move through treatment, we'll regularly check in on your progress and goals and decide together whether we need to continue, adjust our approach, change the frequency of sessions, or begin working toward ending therapy.
My goal isn't to keep you in therapy indefinitely. The goal is to provide you with meaningful support and skills that you can carry with you beyond our time together.
-
You’re welcome to reach out between sessions for brief communication related to scheduling, questions about your care, or other non-urgent matters. I will respond as soon as reasonably possible during my available business hours. Please keep in mind that email and messaging are not monitored continuously and should not be used for urgent or emergency situations.
I do not provide 24/7 crisis or emergency services. If you are experiencing an emergency, feel that you may be a danger to yourself or someone else, or need immediate support, please contact 911 or your local emergency services, go to the nearest emergency department, or contact an appropriate crisis resource.
If a situation arises during treatment where you need a level of support beyond what I can safely provide in an outpatient setting, we will work together to identify appropriate resources and next steps.

I currently do not accept or bill insurance. I offer private-pay therapy at a flat rate of $100 per session, with an initial intake session of $150.
If your insurance plan offers out-of-network mental health benefits, I can provide you with a superbill upon request. A superbill is a detailed receipt that includes information such as the date and type of service, the amount paid, and your diagnosis. You can submit the superbill to your insurance company to request reimbursement for out-of-network services.
Submitting a superbill does not guarantee that your insurance company will reimburse you. Whether you receive reimbursement, and how much, depends on your individual insurance plan, deductible, and out-of-network benefits. I recommend contacting your insurance company before beginning therapy to understand your specific coverage.
Please also be aware that submitting a superbill means your insurance company will receive information about your mental health treatment, including your diagnosis. If you choose to submit a superbill, you are choosing to share this information with your insurance company.
You are responsible for payment at the time of service regardless of whether your insurance company provides reimbursement.

I understand that life happens, and sometimes you need to change your appointment. I simply ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.
Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice are subject to a $50 late cancellation fee. Missed appointments/no-shows are subject to the full $100 session fee.
I understand that emergencies and unexpected circumstances happen. Fees may be waived at my discretion when there are circumstances that warrant an exception. If you are unable to attend your appointment, please reach out as soon as possible rather than simply missing the appointment.
Repeated late cancellations or missed appointments may result in a conversation about whether the current appointment schedule is working for you and may affect our ability to continue regularly scheduling sessions.
Cancellation fees are the client's responsibility and are not submitted to insurance for reimbursement.
