HEY, I’M JENAE

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, with over a decade of experience in behavioral and mental health. I’ve worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families across residential treatment, outpatient therapy, and integrated behavioral health, supporting people through life transitions, trauma, and complex mental health needs.

Beyond my credentials and experience, I believe in having honest conversations about the hard parts of being human, and healing from the patterns we repeat, the things we carry, and the tension between who we are and who we want to become. Growth doesn’t require having everything figured out. Sometimes it starts with getting curious about ourselves and our experiences.

My Christian faith is an important part of who I am. I believe there is room for both faith and honest questions, hope and hard feelings, and trusting God while still doing the work of healing. For those who wish to incorporate faith into therapy, I welcome that, too.

I created The Well around the belief that we all need places where we can slow down, reconnect with ourselves, and be replenished. You don’t have to have the right words or everything figured out. You can start right where you are.

It’s time to pour into your own well.

My Approach & training

I take a client-centered, trauma-informed approach that considers the whole person, including the connection between mind and body. Our work is collaborative, building on your strengths and experiences while making room for growth, new perspectives, and meaningful change. Below are approaches that I have training in.

SOLUTION FOCUSED THERAPY

Solution-Focused Therapy focuses on identifying what’s working, what you want to change, and what’s possible moving forward. Rather than focusing solely on the problem, we explore your strengths, exceptions to the problem, and existing resources to help you build solutions and take meaningful steps toward your goals.

dialectical behavior therapy (dbt)

(DBT) explores the balance between acceptance and change, helping you learn to acknowledge your experiences while working toward healthier ways of responding. Through mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness, DBT offers practical skills for navigating emotions, relationships, and life’s challenges.

play therapy

Play therapy uses play as a natural way for children to express feelings, communicate experiences, and work through challenges they may not yet have the words to explain. Through play, children can build emotional regulation, strengthen relationships, develop problem-solving skills, and feel more confident navigating their world.
